Thank you for the interest in becoming a volunteer at Ascension Saint Thomas Hospital. Please review the requirements below before applying. If you can meet the requirements, please complete and submit the application below.

The Junior Volunteer Summer Program is closed. Applications for 2027 will be available in early January.

Volunteer Services is not a shadowing or internship opportunity.

VOLUNTEER REQUIREMENTS:

Adult volunteers must be 18 years of age or older and completed high school.
Junior/High School volunteers must be between the ages of 15 and 18 and still in high school.
Commitment requirement is a minimum of one 2-4-hour shift per week for a minimum of 3 months following the completion of the Onboarding Process.
Complete the mandatory Onboarding Process & Orientation requirements upon acceptance to the Volunteer Program.

If your application is accepted we will contact you to schedule an interview.

APPROVED TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER AND BEGIN THE ONBOARDING/ORIENTATION PROCESS:

Health Information & Immunization Requirements: You will need to complete a Health Screening including immunization requirements, pass a urine drug test, and receive a flu vaccination (between October 1st to March 31st). You will be responsible for obtaining required immunizations that may be missing. All immunizations must be completed by the time you attend/complete the Volunteer Orientation. Free of charge.
Background Check: A background check will be completed and approved before you are approved to become a volunteer. Free of charge.
Orientation//Volunteer Pledge: Complete a Volunteer Orientation and Volunteer Pledge, including Policies & Procedures, Code of Conduct, Dress Code, and Health & Safety procedures.

Volunteers are asked to make a minimum commitment of one 3-4 hour shift per week on the same day each week for a minimum of 4 months unless otherwise discussed by Volunteer Services.
